“00” section have now acquired boards for the new layout having been built by one of our members (still some boards to come he is on holiday)various track plans have been looked at and the decision should be made shortly
“N” section have stopped trying to repair the layout as it would take a full rewire and they were running out of time to have something running as other layouts are almost past there best and are starting to give problems so the decision was taken to purchase a layout which is in show condition and this should arrive in November
“0”section is still progressing the large layout based on Elderslie with electrics complete, scenic almost finished and the main buildings are almost ready to go on the layout so it is well on the way for the Glasgow show next year
The club members are continuing to progress the “O” gauge and the “N” gauge layouts with the scenery on both layouts taking place.Ballasting is now almost completed on the “O” gauge layout station platforms are down and the scenic areas have been started. The “N” gauge layout has most of the scenery completed. As yet the “OO” layout has not progressed although track plans are approved and layout boards are being costed with hopefully work starting shortly
it does not seem like a year from my last update about our layouts
firstly the “O” gauge layout Kircudbe which appeared in the Hornby magazine has now appeared for the last time under our club s banner as we have moved it on to one of our members but as we are now progressing very well with our new layout with all track laid and electrics fixed we are now in a position to have some running sessions in the club and the scenics will be starting shortly and the platforms are almost finished
The “N” gauge layout is still progressing where they have had locomotives running round complete layout and the scenic sections have been started
The “OO” gauge layout Perceton has also appeared in the modelling press and performs well at any exhibitions that it has attended but there is still no progress on the new layout as yet
all layouts that are being built are still progressing well with most of the track now down for the “O” gauge layout with wiring starting shortly and possibly station platforms and buildings as well
Again the “N” gauge layout is progressing with track laid and scenery started and talk is taking place about a complete rewire to better standards
Design work is taking place for a new “OO” layout which once members and committee agree to the proposals, board construction will commence. An update on Perceton which will be at Greenock w/e 18/10/14 an article is now featuring in the recent edition of the Hornby magazine

The “N gauge boys as well as running trains are working on the last corner of Mauchline so hopefully we will soon have a complete circuit to run, but in the meantime they are preparing to take Ians layout to the Kyle show in Auchinharvie in May
Now that our annual show is over we are now back to continuing the build of the two new layouts for the club with the new “O” gauge boards now being progressed
with eight boards being finished (only another twelve to go) before we can start to lay the track. Buildings are also being built with the two signal boxes complete and plans being drawn up for the station buildings.
The “N” gauge layout based on Mauchline has progressed with part of the yard being completed and a run from the yard over the Ballochmyle viaduct into the station being achieved.
Plans are also being drawn up for a new “OO” layout with the members discussing what they would like in the way of operating and whether to base the layout on an actual place more information will be published when decisions are complete.
At present there are two N gauge layouts erected in the clubhouse , the Japanese front Kelninjo of the modular layout is having the track at the back of the scenic section reinstated as a tram line with stop .It is also available for members to play trains.
The new large layout Mauchline (inherited from a private source and part built)is having the back redesigned as a nine track fiddle-yard this is over two boards with the track now laid and power feeds put in place .These boards will also be able to be used for future layouts if required. Two further will have track re-laid and a corner board constructed. This work will start in the near future.
The “o” gauge section within the club have been concentrating on improving the running of our test track as we will be taking it on sat.6th April to Troon for our annual “0” gauge meeting where along with the test track we shall have 3 layouts and three traders along with the ladies providing refreshment throughout the day. We are also starting to plan for another layout which shall be based on Elderslie station , the plywood having been purchased for the baseboards with the work of cutting them to size starting after the Glasgow show
