Ayr model rail show 2015
our annual show was held in the Citadel centre Ayr on the weekend of 19/20th September where we appeared to have a good turnout from the public with many favourable comments received all layouts were to a good standard and ran very well all weekend but I am sure if you attended you would have your own favourites. the traders that attended the show all seemed to have had a successful show so I must thank them for their efforts and contribution to making it a success
Troon report 2013
Well our annual “O” meeting held in the Walker halls in Troon on 6th April 2013 is now past but a most enjoyable time was had with the usual faces turning up and the huddles taking place around the hall discussing all things 7mm.The test track from our club was present where a variety of loco’s were running some with more success than others (loco’s running were Bl 5’s,Jubilee’s,2P West countries, St. tanks, N B tank, Dunalistair, various rail cars as well as the usual mix of diesels incl. deltic ,class 31 and class 20 to name a few). The fun then started when we went digital on one of the circuits and had sound of the various steam and diesel engines playing to the gallery
We were supported with the traders doing some business, these included Invertrain, Parkside Dundas, Dougie Blades and Scenic Solutions and our bring and buy stand.
The two layouts we had were Andy Thompson and his family with a modern image layout which will be at Telford this year and Charles and Cecil and friends with Carr street.
The ladies in the canteen although down in numbers this year kept us supplied with food and refreshments over the day
Our next outing with the test track will be at Pollockshaws in June where we wish Bob and his team every success with their event
The layout this year was the “O” gauge layout Kircudbe that we ran over the three days in various modes starting on the Friday with pre grouping days featuring loco,s from the G.&S.W.R. .This was followed on the Saturday with the L.M.S. coming into play followed by some B.R. diesels, both days were run on analogue control when on the Sunday we converted to using D.C.C. control and running B.R. steam loco,s and green and blue diesels.the layout ran well all weekend although on the Sunday we had problems with the D.C.C. controllers (some operator errors) but we managed to keep on the main everything running
