Show reports
The last two shows we attended were the “O” gauge show held in Camelon where our members took our test track to allow people to run there loco’s etc. we certainly had a wide selection of rolling stock to run including German loco’s alongside the British stock on display. we had B.R. steam era including bl.5’s,Jubilee’s 8F and many more . As well as the more modern diesel loco’s in various liveries all in all a pleasant day had by all and must thank Chris Smith for organising the event and hope it carries on for many more years.
Then the “N” gauge members took our layout Shiresrise to the Falkirk show being held in the College which was a very pleasant venue and well put together. Shiresrise is a small layout that allows kids of all ages to see how they can operate a model railway layout and certainly it was used very well over the weekend some a lot better at operating than others and the young girls were overall better at controlling Thomas the tank but i think over the weekend it worked the way expected and both public and operators had a good time.
lastly I have to tell you that a fellow modeller Mike Bisset passed away a very sad time for family and friends indeed as an aside our club got the chance to acquire his layout St. Marnock which we duly did so we will keep his memory alive by using it on the show circuit
That’s all for this year with only our running days at club to keep us going until our next show in January where the Kilmarnock club is holding there annual show at the Maritime museum in Irvine where will present our “N” gauge layout Fullarton Junction so that is all except to wish you a merry xmas and a happy new year
